Activity related to materials preparation covers the following general topics:
  • CVD growth of hybrid nanostructured systems, such as nanodiamond and diamond films on carbon nanotubes and fibers, nanosized nickel, nano-sized TiO2 on nanotubes, and Gold on nanodiamond
  • CVD growth of a number of graphitic materials including carbon nanotubes (SWCNT, MWCNT), carbon onions, and carbon nanoparticles
  • Fabrication of Cold Cathodes
  • Post synthesis chemical-physical treatments focused on the integration of nanostructures into host matrices and/or devices
  • Electrochemical synthesis of conducting polymers and controlled introduction of carbon nanotubes into polymeric matrices for the preparation of carbon nanotube/polymer nanocomposites
  • Preparation of metal nanoparticles and films like Fe, Ni, Au, Ag, Pt, Cu ...
  • Decoration of Carbon Nanostructures by metal and oxide nanoparticles
